Health Insurance Reform

As California is getting ready for a health insurance overhaul, patients are getting first clues on what the new system will be like. State officials detailed the plan on February 13, outlining what individual insurance buyers will get. Health insurance will become obligatory for most Americans, who otherwise will be fined.

Based on the amounts consumers are required to pay, the federal law established 4 new plans of coverage – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Women Save for Pension Less

The women’s and men’s savings for pensions started to differ more over the last year. According to the research by Scottish Widows, women are investing under £780 a year less than men. The report shows that the gap between their savings has risen to the highest level over the 8 years of this investigation, though this gap was narrowing over the last 2 years. The average women’s savings have dropped from £130 to £95 a month since 2011, while the average men’s savings have increased from £174 to £185. If a 30-year-old woman goes on saving the same sum of money, she will retire having  £30,000 less than a man of the same age.

Microsoft’s upcoming OS is about to be launched and this would mean that its assosiates are very exited and worried about nothing by no means. However, this might not be the same for Intel, who will be designing chips for most of Window 8′s devices. The company announced that it expected its Q3 earnings to be lower than last quarter’s earnings. Intel expects that when it releases its third quarterly earning report at the end of September, it would have earned $13.2 billion with an inaccuracy of plus or minus $300 million, which is lower than the $13.8 billion to $14.8 billion it predicted last time.

President Obama have introduced a wide-ranging expense cutting on Medicare and Medicaid for the grant of 250 and 65 billion United States Dollars for the next decade. These offers will be effective for next financial year’s budget i.e., year 2013. This offer consists of cost cutting incentives for Medicare facilities and it also reveals that people will get more flexible prices in order to get medical facilities. Federal expenditure plan which was intended for the prosperity of senior citizens has been decided to postpone for up coming three year and then it will be implemented. This proposal provides that the finance ministry is intending to cover up the budget deficit which is being faced on lifting drifts by some previous years.

Medical Service Hits Americans in Their Pockets

According to the report provided by the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics, 2011 was a significant for drug industry, which achieved great results. Nevertheless, the investigations conducted by the research group that examined medical industry show the disappointingfact that medical service is still expensive for many Americans. The quantity of prescriptions was reduced by 1.1% and doctors’ services dropped by 4.7% in comparison with 2010. Patients neglected the prescription drugs and didn’t visit doctors and as the result, in 2011 it led to the growth of visits to the emergency room by 7.4 percent. One of the reasons of this sad fact is that a person loses the health insurance in case of long-term unemployment.
